COLUMBUS, OH — FCBank, a division of CNB Bank, today announced that President Jenny Saunders will retire at the end of April following more than 40 years in the banking industry and over eight years leading FCBank across central Ohio. Ms. Saunders made history as the Bank’s first female president and leaves behind a legacy of growth, community engagement, and people-first leadership.
“Jenny exemplifies the kind of special leadership that, in her time at FCBank, so many have been fortunate to experience it firsthand,” said Michael Peduzzi, President and CEO of CNB Financial Corporation and CNB Bank. “She is a trailblazer for professionals in banking, especially given her recent service to the industry as the Chair for the Ohio Bankers League (OBL), leading the OBL with the same conscientious diligence that she serves FCBank and its clients - with a clear vision for growth combined with caring, community-focused connection. Her commitment to relationships and to upholding FCBank’s Cardinal Rules of selfless service in every interaction has left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.”
During her tenure, Ms. Saunders fostered a culture rooted in collaboration among employees, community leaders, and local organizations. She strengthened and exemplified FCBank’s reputation for high-quality, relationship-driven banking. In an industry where women hold fewer than one-third of senior leadership roles, she navigated her role as the President of FCBank with confidence and a positive commitment to collaboration and inclusion. In 2025, she became the first woman in more than two decades to serve as chair of the Ohio Bankers League, marking a historic milestone for both the organization and the state’s banking industry.
Ms. Saunders’ extensive career in banking gave her tremendous empathy and insights into the everyday challenges of employees and clients at all aspects of the company. Under her leadership, FCBank implemented new development initiatives including mentorship programs, web-based training, employee surveys, and feedback channels designed to encourage engagement and continuous improvement.
“I am truly honored to have served the central Ohio community for the past eight years as FCBank’s first female president,” said Ms. Saunders. “I do not take this title lightly knowing the work women and others collectively have had to put in to reach a position like this. As I look ahead to what’s next, I am reminded that FCBank is an institution that truly puts people first. Trust is not given, it is earned, and through our strong foundation of community engagement, we have been able to build meaningful, lasting relationships. While my time as president is coming to an end, I hope my journey reflects what’s possible when we make room for everyone at the table.”
Under Saunders’ leadership, FCBank earned numerous honors, including four Corporate Citizenship Awards, Vanguard recognition from Columbus Business First, the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics, and multiple “Best Community Bank” distinctions. Most recently, FCBank was named the 2025 Bank of the Year by the Ohio Bankers League.
Beyond her work at FCBank, Ms. Saunders has been widely recognized for her community involvement and leadership, receiving honors including a 2024 and 2021 SMART 50 Award and a Paul Harris Fellows Community Service Award. She was also named a WELDing the Way Calendar honoree and a Worthington Leadership for a Lifetime honoree. In 2024, she received the CEO of the Year Award from the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and the inaugural Exceptional Women in Banking Award from the Ohio Bankers League. In 2025, she was named a C-Suite Awards honoree by Columbus Business First.
CNB Bank leadership is currently in the process of identifying Ms. Saunders’ successor. With Ms. Saunders continued cooperation, the organization remains committed to ensuring a thoughtful and seamless leadership transition that supports FCBank’s employees, customers, and communities across central Ohio.
